Why You Should Be Repurposing Your TikTok Content
You’re using TikTok for your business and while TikTok is one of my favorite platforms for business marketing, I don’t recommend putting all your eggs in one basket and instead implementing a content repurposing strategy. It’s important to be present on multiple platforms for many reasons.
- At any time, the social media platform could be shut down and you lose all of your followers, leads, etc. If you were only active on that one platform, you would be completely devastated scrambling to start over on another platform.
- Being present on multiple platforms generates more leads and website traffic, and increases your brand awareness.
- You build trust and social proof with your audience when they search for your business and find it on multiple platforms.
Now that you understand why you should be marketing your business on multiple platforms, let’s get into how to make it happen without taking up tons of your time and resources.
You can check out this YouTube video where I walk you through exactly how I take 1 TikTok video and repurpose it to 6 different platforms using 1 tool and only spend a few minutes of my time!
How to Repurpose TikTok Content
Once you have created your TikTok video you need to download that video without a watermark. Social media platforms can tell when the watermark is present and it can negatively impact the reach of that video, so always make sure to remove the watermark before repurposing to other platforms.
Step 1
SnapTik.App is a great, free tool that allows you to past the link to your TikTok video and then download it watermark-free!
Step 2
It’s time to schedule your TikTok to your other social media platforms and the scheduler that has been a game-changer for me and my clients is Metricool
Metricool has a free version that is quite robust, but their paid version provides tons of value, so I definitely feel that it is worth it. This scheduler allows me to schedule my TikTok videos to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest (as a standard pin), and LinkedIn in a matter of minutes!
Step 3
This part is optional and depending on your marketing strategy, you may not feel it’s necessary to do this, but I love marketing my business on searchable platforms (think SEO), so after I schedule my content via Metricool, I head over to my Google Business Profile (formerly known as GoogleMyBusiness) and manually upload the TikTok with my caption. *Side note: you can schedule posts to Google Business Profile via Metricool, but they must be images only and not videos so that is why I do this manually*
Then, I head over to Pinterest to post this TikTok video as an idea pin. Idea pins generate tons of visibility on the platform and since Pinterest is a search engine, your content is being seen by people that are actually searching for it! Idea pins cannot currently be scheduled via any 3rd party scheduler, so I schedule the standard pin and then manually post the idea pin.
Effective Content Marketing For Business
When repurposing your content you want to ensure that you are customizing the content for each, specific platform. Take the time to adjust the caption, add or remove hashtags, use relevant keywords, etc. to ensure that your video will perform well and reach the right people on each platform you post it.
